About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Quality Specialist for a contract opportunity with a Global Financial Institution. This role involves testing complex software to meet business outcomes, ensuring it meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. The specialist will be responsible for test data management, manual and automated test execution, results reporting, and defect triaging.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework & Jira
  • Ability to design and develop manual and automated test plans within an application
  • Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices
  • Experience testing Microsoft 365 products, services, and business flows
  • Understanding of architecture and corporate standards to support testing of architecture designs and implementations
  • Excellent action management, prioritization, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and use of testing tools to report and track defects
  • Understanding of risks and ability to apply controls necessary to mitigate them
  • A basic understanding of the following technologies and architectures: M365 Teams & Skype, M365 OneDrive & SharePoint Online, M365 Power Apps & Automate, Microsoft Exchange + Exchange Online, M365 licensing and infrastructure, M365 Defender, Email message routing, and M365 Intune

  • Ability to define, create, and optimize processes based on requirements
  • Basic understanding of financial data and data management practices and technologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements
  • Lead test planning, usually at a team level, ensuring stories are well refined and contain clear acceptance criteria
  • Ensure in-scope and out-of-scope items are clearly identified during test planning
  • Implement the team's test framework and lead test case reviews with subject matter experts
  • Identify automation opportunities, help condition and generate test data, and ensure data compliance requirements are met
  • Execute manual and automated test cases, record results, and report issues and defects
  • Participate in triaging reported issues/defects and assist with resolving or escalating them as necessary
  • Create and manage traceability, tracing tests through the development lifecycle back to requirements
  • Use testing tools and follow processes to complete testing on a given test environment
  • Maintain and catalogue test suites across test types (Smoke, Integration, Regression, etc)
