About The Position

The Software Quality Assurance and Automation Engineer contributes to functional and automation testing of agile stories as a member of an agile Scrum team. The role supports testing challenging new financial products with a development team, using modern technology. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, enthusiastic, passionate about quality, and able to quickly understand complex issues and deliver high-quality solutions. The engineer independently tests software enhancements and solutions across business and technical problem domains, writes automation scripts for backend and front-end functional, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing, and participates in test code reviews. The role includes testing software applications and projects involving cloud computing and technologies such as Java, SQL, Spring Boot, Kafka, and ReactJS/TypeScript or equivalent frameworks. The engineer also participates in the Scrum process and triages production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed. The position is onsite four days per week and remote one day per week, with standard business hours aligned to project and stakeholder needs (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The annual salary range is $70,000–$118,750 for the specified location.

Requirements

3–5 years of commercial software development experience, with proficiency in developing multi-tier solutions.
Experience with testing tools such as TestNG and Tosca.
Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka for backend testing using Cucumber/TestNG.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
Knowledge of commercial software development testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector.
Ability to work collaboratively with peers and multiple teams.
Strong communication skills; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly responsible.
Some Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka coding experience.
Experience with BDD/TestNG, Tosca Automation, Jira, SQL, and backend testing.
Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud services.

Nice To Haves

A mathematics background is highly desirable.
Experience working with an Agile development methodology.

Responsibilities

Independently test software enhancements and solutions within business and technical problem domains.
Test software programs, applications, and projects involving cloud computing and technologies such as Java, SQL, Spring Boot, Kafka, and ReactJS/TypeScript or equivalent frameworks.
Write automation scripts for backend and front-end functional, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing.
Participate in test code reviews.
