About The Position

The Quality Assurance Analyst role is to execute activities in support of the internal supplier quality management and product management programs while ensuring a risk-based approach is used in ensuring supplier and product compliance with GloryBee programs and regulatory standards. The Specialist provides departmental support and serves as a liaison between Quality Assurance, Purchasing and Sales departments. This role is based out of our Production Facility located at 1680 Irving Road in Eugene, Oregon and the typical work week for this full-time salaried position, is Monday - Friday, with some outside business hours and weekend requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Food or Nutritional Science, Microbiology or Chemistry. Professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 3 years of experience in a QA role; prior food industry experience preferred
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint (page formatting, templates creation, basic graphs, emailing, etc)
  • PCQI and HACCP trained or ability to be trained within 6 months of hire
  • Excellent knowledge of Supplier Preventive Controls related to Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
  • Ability to navigate internal, customer and supplier portals for document administration (Tracegains, Repositrak, etc.)
  • Prior MRP or ERP system knowledge; X3 highly desired
  • Able to collaborate successfully with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage short and long term projects, prioritizes workflow while allowing for flexibility

Responsibilities

  • Conducts a desk audit review of supplier documentation to aid in new supplier approvals
  • Responsible for processing existing and new supplier approval workflow and updating/maintaining vendor master data
  • Determines risk of supplier and existing ingredient by performing a supplier review, a risk-based hazard analysis and food safety plan review, working with supplier and Purchasing to mitigate risks
  • Performs aseptic sampling of products and facilitates appropriate testing based on outlined specifications and priorities
  • Performs organoleptic testing on products for flavor, odor, and other physical characteristics
  • Reviews documentation to ensure products meet the expectations of the company and customers; creates Certificates of Analysis (COA) based on tests, vendor information and customer needs
  • Performs production line quality checks as required
  • Prepare samples for retention and for clients, prospects and suppliers
  • Prepare and ship samples to outside laboratory for 3rd party testing.
  • Interpretation of lab results and data entry into ERP.
  • Performs in-house physical testing for pH, moisture, Brix and color
  • Other additional duties and projects as assigned
