About The Position

PolicyMe is modernizing the Canadian insurance landscape and is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst – Manual and Automation Testing to join their QA team. This is a fixed-term, 18-month maternity leave contract. The role involves testing new products in the InsurTech space, maintaining a high-quality release cadence, and ensuring the robustness of front-end customer experience and back-end systems. The position also offers exposure to an AI-supported QA automation initiative, combining manual testing with modern tooling.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience conducting quality assurance testing for web-based platforms, with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
  • Experience developing and executing manual test cases across devices and browsers.
  • Some automation or software development knowledge/training.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think through niche scenarios.
  • Comfort with technical topics and ability to build a deep understanding of systems.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on new topics and ask clarifying questions.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate test status, findings, and QA program updates to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive in driving initiatives and seeking new/better solutions.
  • Team-oriented, humble, and supportive.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to help the team hit release goals.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily QA standups and dedicated engineering team standups, staying informed about requirements, specs, and release plans.
  • Assist in building comprehensive testing plans with the QA team and design clear test cases for assessing feature readiness.
  • Manage all aspects of the test plan to enable on-time launches, including executing test cases, documenting progress, and communicating testing statuses to stakeholders.
  • Perform thorough manual testing across environments, devices, and browsers, including regression and exploratory testing.
  • Log, track, and retest bugs in Jira and Zephyr, collaborating with developers on prioritization and resolution.
  • Work with QA, product, and engineering teams to identify new tools or internal features that can improve QA testing quality and speed.
  • Contribute to the AI-supported QA automation project (e.g. TestSigma), identifying scenarios for automation and supporting the creation and maintenance of automated tests.
  • Support developers in improving automated testing, ensuring new features are added to the automated regression testing suite.
  • Work with product managers to identify critical vs. non-critical bugs for resolution before deployment.
  • Develop and execute a structured process for triaging bugs identified across the organization.
  • Detail bugs to support resolution with the engineering team, including bug replication and root cause analysis.
