About The Position

This position provides independent quality and related mission assurance expertise in support of assigned MDA program hardware across the entire product life cycle. The role involves reviewing and assessing hardware and software compliance with quality and mission assurance requirements, including support of failure investigations, FRBs, evaluations, audits, and assessments to determine root causes of failures. The analyst will also provide technical and data management expertise for various quality and mission assurance boards and working groups, collect and track quality metrics, and report on the status of quality and mission assurance efforts. Responsibilities include preparing documents, facilitating meetings, analyzing government and supplier requirements, and monitoring contractor progress. The position requires periodic travel, approximately once per quarter, and supports MDA/GMEQ at MDA facility on Redstone Arsenal, with an expectation to work onsite 1-2 days per week, with telework authorized when not required to be onsite.

Requirements

  • BA or BS with 10 or more years related experience in quality or mission assurance analyzing missile defense system or DOD weapon systems.
  • Proficient at communicating complex topics clearly and concisely via both oral and written mediums.
  • Experience in collaborating within small teams representing primarily quality, and mission assurance professional backgrounds.
  • Experience with supporting and assisting the development and execution of policies and requirements.
  • Experience in assessing, auditing, inspecting, and assessing hardware and software configurations for all end item system configurations involving complex aerospace systems across their entire life cycle.
  • Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent quality and related mission assurance expertise in support of assigned MDA program hardware at all levels of the architecture across the entire product life cycle.
  • Assist with review and assessment of hardware and software compliance with quality and related mission assurance requirements, including support of failure investigations, FRB, evaluations, audits, and assessments. Activities include determining root cause of failures of MDA hardware.
  • Provide technical and data management expertise for quality and mission assurance boards, working groups, and reviews to include (but not limited to) the Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Board (PMPCB), technical and mission reviews, pedigree reviews, first article inspections, and risk working groups.
  • Collect/track available quality and mission assurance metrics for the assigned program.
  • Report on the status of quality and related mission assurance efforts – weekly and periodically consistent with the battle rhythm – to communicate evolving risks, issues, and best practices.
  • Prepare draft documents, briefs, presentations, and actions items responses.
  • Facilitate meetings involving QS personnel. Serve as liaison between QS organizations and non-MDA communities. Provide situational awareness and status of changes from meetings.
  • Assist with and/or prepare status reviews for data management including feedback and implementation effectiveness assessments. Review and analyze metrics reports for, but not limited to, best practices and improvements.
  • Analyze Government requirement documents and supplier hardware technical requirements for compliance and assist with addressing issues.
  • Monitor contractor supplier progress in implementation and execution of developed solutions.
  • Provide weekly status reports on activities and issues of concern.
  • Travel periodically, approximately once per quarter.
