About The Position

The Quality Assistant supports the Quality Department by managing the internal Non-Conforming Product Program and assisting with quality and food safety compliance through internal audits, documentation, and recordkeeping.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Intermediate to advanced computer operation and typing skills.
Proficiency with computer systems and web-based software, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to make timely decisions and follow established procedures.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to use and read basic measuring devices, such as rulers and pi tape, as needed.
Ability to work effectively with employees and managers across multiple departments.

Nice To Haves

0–3 years of experience in quality, food safety, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of quality control and/or quality assurance procedures preferred.
Bilingual proficiency in Vietnamese and/or Spanish is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Collect and document all pertinent information related to non-conforming product placed on hold, including samples, photographs, and additional details.
Review non-conforming product with the Quality Manager and other relevant personnel and conduct additional investigation as needed, including communicating with Production employees and Managers.
Physically identify, disposition, and move material from the Non-Conforming Product (NC) Area following approved instructions.
Electronically disposition material in the ERP system, which may include releasing or blocking product, adjusting quantities, deleting inventory records, and making other approved system updates.
Create and distribute quality investigation packets to the appropriate Department Manager.
Conduct monthly food safety and site security audits in accordance with established procedures and checklists.
File and maintain cleaning records for each production department.
Maintain accurate and organized quality records and documentation.
Communicate quality or food safety concerns to the Quality Manager or appropriate department personnel.
