About The Position

The Clinical Systems Improvement (CSI) team within the Clinical Excellence and Innovation division supports safe, high-quality care across Tasmania by administering and improving statewide quality and safety systems. The team works closely with clinicians, managers, quality and safety staff, consumers, and external vendors to ensure systems are reliable, user-centered, and support clinical governance, learning, and continuous improvement across the Department of Health. The Quality and Safety Systems Officer supports the effective operation and ongoing improvement of quality and safety information systems used across the Department of Health. The role provides system administration and user support, including access management, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, reporting, and data quality activities. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the position contributes to system enhancements, documentation, training resources, and quality improvement activities that support patient safety and service improvement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge, participation, and experience in undertaking quality activities within a healthcare setting, with the ability to identify and develop relevant projects, programs, and policies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various applications pertaining to quality management systems within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills with advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Effectively liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including consumers, in the development and implementation of quality improvement projects.
