About The Position

WarehouseQuote is looking for a Quality Analyst to join our Software Development team and help ensure that the software, integrations, and workflows we deliver are reliable, usable, and ready for production. This role is more than executing test scripts. The Quality Analyst is an active participant throughout the software development lifecycle—from reviewing requirements and acceptance criteria through functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and production release validation. You will develop a deep understanding of the WarehouseQuote platform and how data and transactions move between our applications, APIs, warehouse management systems, EDI integrations, and external partners. You will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, business stakeholders, and other Technology team members to identify risks early, define effective test scenarios, document results, and make sure changes meet their intended business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience performing software quality assurance, software testing, or application testing in a professional development environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing concepts and methodologies, including functional, integration, system, regression, acceptance, and usability testing.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to think beyond the "happy path" and identify edge cases, failure scenarios, and unintended downstream impacts.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum development practices.
  • Experience documenting defects with clear reproduction steps, expected behavior, actual behavior, and supporting evidence.
  • Ability to understand workflows and system/data-flow diagrams involving multiple applications and services.
  • Experience working collaboratively with software engineers and nontechnical business stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple testing responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Comfort learning complex business processes to become a subject-matter expert in the applications being tested.
  • Experience with an issue-tracking platform such as Jira and a documentation platform such as Confluence, or comparable tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.
  • Experience validating JSON request and response payloads.
  • Familiarity with automated API testing and tools such as Postman Collections and Newman.
  • Experience with browser-based end-to-end testing tools such as Cypress.
  • Experience testing integrations involving APIs, webhooks, EDI, flat files, queues, or other system-to-system transactions.
  • Familiarity with relational or document databases and the ability to validate underlying application data.
  • Experience working with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing as part of the software build process.
  • Experience testing applications supporting transportation, warehousing, supply chain, or logistics operations.
  • Experience validating transactions across a warehouse management system or other third-party operational platform.
  • Exposure to cloud-based applications and services.

Responsibilities

  • Participate throughout the development lifecycle, including grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, design discussions, sprint reviews/demos, and retrospectives.
  • Review Jira stories, bugs, and enhancements before and during development to ensure they contain clear, testable acceptance criteria and testing considerations.
  • Work with engineers, product owners, and other business stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and define what successful delivery looks like.
  • Create and execute test plans and test scenarios covering: Functional testing, Integration testing, System testing, Regression testing, Smoke testing, User acceptance testing, API testing, Data and transaction-flow validation.
  • Validate changes in the test environment before production deployment.
  • Maintain reusable test cases, including objectives, prerequisites, test data, detailed test steps, and expected results.
  • Capture and document test evidence for Jira work, including screenshots and/or video recordings showing successful or failed validation.
  • Clearly document failed tests, expected versus actual behavior, reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and return work to Engineering when rework is required.
  • Report defects when testing uncovers issues outside the scope of the item currently being tested, including reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
  • Validate software behavior across multiple connected systems rather than testing individual screens in isolation.
  • Test API integrations and transaction flows using tools such as Postman and other appropriate testing utilities.
  • Support testing of EDI and warehouse-management integrations, including validating orders, inventory, statuses, mappings, and transaction data between systems.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with appropriate business stakeholders for customer-facing or user-interface changes.
  • Perform regression and smoke testing surrounding releases and assist with production release validation.
  • Monitor the team's testing queue and help ensure development work progresses through QA in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain testing procedures, standards, system documentation, mappings, and QA knowledge.
  • Look for opportunities to improve testing efficiency, repeatability, coverage, and automation.
  • Partner with engineers to improve overall product quality and increase the Software Development team's ability to deliver confidently and consistently.
