About The Position

The QC Visual Inspector is responsible for performing quality control inspections on sterile and non-sterile compounded medications within a 503A compounding pharmacy environment. This role ensures that finished products, including vials, capsules, and other compounded preparations, meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards prior to release. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a cleanroom setting, and a commitment to compliance and patient safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
  • Prior experience in compounding pharmacy or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Familiarity with USP guidelines and sterile compounding standards
  • Experience in quality control or visual inspection roles

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual inspection of compounded sterile and non-sterile products, including vials, capsules, and other dosage forms.
  • Inspect for particulate matter, discoloration, container integrity, fill accuracy, labeling accuracy, and overall product appearance.
  • Verify lot numbers, expiration dates, and labeling compliance prior to release.
  • Ensure products meet internal SOPs, USP standards, and regulatory requirements before approval.
  • Document inspection findings accurately and in real time within designated systems.
  • Escalate discrepancies, defects, or quality concerns to the Quality team or Pharmacist in Charge promptly.
  • Follow all gowning and cleanroom protocols, including sterile and non sterile procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with USP standards and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit ready workspace within the cleanroom environment.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold a culture of safety and compliance.
