About The Position

Fenix Parts, Inc. is seeking a QC Technician to help ensure the quality, appearance, and accuracy of outgoing auto-parts orders. The role examines stock and brokered parts for wear, defects, and accuracy against purchase orders and work orders; records discrepancies; and works with internal resources to resolve problems. It also includes refurbishing parts to meet company appearance standards, preparing and labeling materials for shipment, preparing shipping documents, arranging shipments with carriers, and moving materials to staging areas. The technician maintains quality-control and shipping supplies and keeps the QC area orderly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related experience and/or training with heavy equipment to move vehicles or fragile objects, or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Excellent close vision, depth perception, ability to see color, and ability to adjust focus.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Examine stock and brokered parts for wear and defects and compare them with purchase orders, work orders, and other records to verify accuracy.
• Record discrepancies in part descriptions, including damage not recorded on purchase or work orders.
• Work with internal resources to rectify problems found.
• Examine parts to confirm their appearance meets established company standards.
• Refurbish parts as necessary to meet the established appearance standard.
• Pack, seal, and label materials for shipping using the appropriate tag.
• Prepare work orders, bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, and other documents to route materials.
• Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping or provide shipping and delivery instructions.
• Deliver or route materials to the appropriate staging area using a hand truck, lift truck, forklift, or sorting bins.
• Requisition and store quality-control and shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory.
• Maintain housekeeping in the QC area.
