About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is an entry level technician located in the Quality Control Sampling (QCS) department reporting to the QC Laboratory Team Leader. The QC Technician is a task-based assignment. Responsibilities can include sampling of raw materials, water and environmental monitoring, analytical testing, entering test results, and other laboratory maintenance activities. This position will work under the oversight of a fully trained QC Laboratory Team Leader.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a quality control lab or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of cGMP required
  • Organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of USP and FDA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sample raw materials, water and packaging for analytical and microbial testing in accordance with established procedures using aseptic technique.
  • Collect environmental monitoring samples using proper techniques and according to applicable procedures.
  • Organize and review incoming raw material samples and associated paperwork.
  • Perform simple analytical tests under the supervision of a QC Scientist.
  • Perform laboratory housekeeping and maintain general order in the lab.
  • Maintain inventory of general laboratory supplies and reagents and order/receive stock as required.
  • Maintain calibration program and perform instrument calibrations as needed.
  • Dispose of completed samples and support chemical waste removal from the lab.
  • Prepare/send samples requiring 3rd party testing.
  • Receive and review results of 3rd party testing and enter results into Colorcon’s LIMS.
  • Report any OOS results to quality leadership in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of Colorcon LIMS and Oracle database applications to maintain accuracy of records.
  • Maintain an awareness of cGMP and ensure compliance with those regulations as they relate to their activities.
  • Observe applicable quality procedures and SOP’s.
  • Assist with other duties within the Quality Control Department as needed.
