Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in the food manufacturing industry is preferred
  • Organized and a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Self-starter / strong initiative
  • Team player with ability to work cross-functionally
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Fast typing and numerical data entry skills

Nice To Haves

  • Post secondary education within a Food Science related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and testing all aseptic final product
  • Setting up, calibrating and performing; Code interpretation, Total Solids, Brix, pH, Density, Sodium and Organoleptic evaluations.
  • Conducting sensory evaluation as required
  • Tasting liquid broth, including meat and seafood ingredients
  • Package integrity evaluation
  • Case inspection, case code inspection.
  • Peroxide test
  • Cooler inspection.
  • Glass check
  • Line start up check
  • Hourly batch pH test check
  • Line weight checks
  • Pasteurizer checks
  • Initiating NCR, placing Hold tags on product if in the building.
  • Updating NCR book
  • Following up and closing open NCR’s
  • Organizing, testing, modifying, re-sampling and releasing all aseptic soup batches.
  • Setting up, calibrating and performing; Total Solids, Brix, pH, Density, Sodium and Organoleptic evaluations.
  • Assisting with micro testing, pH testing and plating when required, i.e. busy season or early release requirement
  • Reading all plates and filling in the micro record for manager’s signature.
  • Investigating any counts found.
  • Collecting, packing and sending samples to outside lab.
  • Changing hot room temperature chart
