About The Position

The QC Technician gathers and tests products for quality control, interacting regularly with the work group and other departments at the primary work location. The position requires demonstrating competency in on-the-job activities that may directly or indirectly affect product safety, legality, or quality. Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the technician evaluates ingredients and products at various stages of production, performs tests, keeps records, and helps ensure company food-safety and quality procedures are followed.

Requirements

High school diploma equivalency.
Demonstrated competency in on-the-job activities that may affect product safety, legality, or quality.

Nice To Haves

One year of previous experience in a similar Quality Assurance laboratory.

Responsibilities

Evaluate ingredients and products at various stages of production under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Collect samples of ingredients and products at regular intervals.
Evaluate samples for factors such as weight, color, and bake quality.
Perform microbiological tests.
Make routine recommendations for processing.
Create and maintain accurate records.
Check metal detectors.
Perform mathematical calculations on weights and record the information on the appropriate paperwork.
Maintain flour-tailing reports.
Train new Lab Technicians II as necessary.
Keep work areas clean.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety, work rules, EEO, harassment, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Ensure internal and external food-safety and quality policies and procedures are followed.
Fulfill work schedules, follow attendance policies, and comply with applicable operating rules and procedures.
Perform other duties as directed by supervision or management.
