About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team in Dallas, TX. The Quality Control Technician will ensure that our ready-mix concrete meets company and industry standards by performing field and laboratory testing, troubleshooting concrete performance issues, and providing technical support to production and operations teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction materials, engineering, or a related field is a plus
  • 1+ years of experience in ready-mix concrete quality control, construction materials testing, or a related field preferred
  • ACI (American Concrete Institute) or TxDOT certifications preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Strong understanding of concrete properties, mix designs, and testing procedures
  • Ability to interpret technical data and generate reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to pass background check, drug & alcohol testing and a physical assessment
  • Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE is required if performing special jobs.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality control tests on ready-mix concrete, including slump, air content, unit weight, and strength testing
  • Sample and test raw materials such as aggregates, cement, and admixtures for compliance with specifications
  • Monitor concrete batch processes to ensure consistency and adherence to mix designs
  • Document and analyze test results, identifying and addressing any inconsistencies or deviations
  • Work closely with plant operators, drivers, and contractors to resolve quality concerns and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assist in developing and modifying concrete mix designs to meet project specifications
  • Ensure compliance with ASTM, ACI, DOT, and company-specific quality standards
  • Maintain calibration and proper operation of testing equipment
  • Conduct job site inspections to evaluate concrete performance and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Support the implementation of quality control and safety policies and procedures.
  • Enter test data into data management system
  • Follow proper company policies, procedures, laws, and regulations including OSHA safety and quality standards
