About The Position

This role involves performing Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods. The technician will be responsible for accurate sampling, testing, documentation, and maintaining various QA/QC records. The position requires collaboration with multiple departments and external partners to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • Experience in food, beverage, flavor, or pharmaceutical industry required.
  • Background in food science, food technology, chemistry, or related field with strong organic chemistry knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with sensory testing.
  • Strong understanding of food science, ingredients, additives, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory standards with ability to interpret compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, investigation, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform QC testing (including sensory) on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods per specifications.
  • Accurately sample, test, and document results in the ERP system.
  • Coordinate third-party lab testing and sample shipments.
  • Re-test expiring materials, support shelf-life extensions, and manage discard reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain lab instruments, coordinating service as needed.
  • Release or hold materials in ERP and generate COAs and related QC documentation.
  • Support ERP setup of new materials/products, including test plans and data management.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and suppliers on specifications, methods, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain QA/QC documentation (SOPs, customer specs) and complete QA questionnaires.
  • Support audits, HACCP/GMP programs, complaint investigations (CAPA), training, and lab safety.
