About The Position

The QC Lab Assistant will be responsible for various tasks related to laboratory operations, data management, and quality control. This role involves creating and managing certification sheets, entering data into databases, coordinating lab samples, performing physical testing on foam materials, and maintaining lab equipment and integrity. The assistant will also communicate with production and supervisors regarding quality issues and participate in corrective actions.

Requirements

Ability to create, send, and file lab certification sheets
Proficiency in entering lab data into a database daily
Skill in coordinating lab files
Ability to work with production to stay updated on foam results and customer needs
Capability to coordinate, prepare, and ship lab samples
Experience in creating spreadsheets for lab data analysis
Proficiency in conducting physical testing on foam (e.g., Density, ILD, Tensile, Tear, Elongation)
Ability to schedule sample cuts and operate a Bandsaw
Skill in running analysis on unknown foams for sales quotations
Experience in conducting and maintaining MSA studies
Ability to maintain lab integrity, cleanliness, and specific requirements
Proficiency in preparing and maintaining lab equipment
Strong communication skills for reporting non-conforming products to supervisors
Ability to stop production to correct quality problems
Awareness of environmental aspects and impacts
Capability to report inconsistencies or nonconformances and participate in corrective/preventive actions
Authority to stop shipment and production to correct quality problems

Responsibilities

Create, send, and file lab certification sheets for customers
Enter lab data into database daily and coordinate lab files
Work with production keeping abreast of daily foam results and customer cert sheet needs
Coordinate, prepare, and ship lab samples to customers
Create spreadsheets of lab results to analyze lab data
Conducts all physical testing on foam in the lab for example: Density, ILD, Tensile, Tear, Elongation, etc.
Schedule sample cuts and cut on Bandsaw for various tests
Send certification sheets to appropriate customers
Run analysis on unknown foams for sales quotations
Conduct and help maintain MSA studies
Maintain Lab integrity in terms of cleanliness and other specific requirements
Prepare and maintain lab equipment
Communications with supervisor when non-conforming product.
Stops production to correct quality problems.
Environmental aspect and impact awareness.
Report any inconsistency or nonconformance on the product and participate in the corrective/preventive actions process
Authority to stop shipment, stop production to correct quality problems
