About The Position

The QC Inspector inspects manufactured parts for dimensional and visual quality. The role involves learning and using gauges and direct-reading instruments, documenting whether products are serviceable or unserviceable, and inspecting simple, highly repetitive jobs independently according to standardized procedures. Parts may be warm and oily. The inspector receives instruction from the chief inspector on identifying acceptable quality.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Good arithmetic ability and a good working knowledge of decimals and fractions.
• Ability to work with parts that are warm and oily.

Responsibilities

• Assist group leaders and Class A or B inspectors with their daily duties.
• Observe and learn the proper use of gauges.
• Clean and maintain tools and the work area.
• Document serviceable or unserviceable products.
• Inspect simple jobs independently, including highly repetitive inspections performed according to standardized procedures.
• Visually inspect or check parts using direct-reading instruments.
