About The Position

The QC Inspector / Machined Parts is responsible for inspecting and verifying precision-machined components to ensure they meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements. This position works closely with Quality and Machining personnel to identify dimensional or quality issues, support timely product releases, and ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of quality inspection experience with machined or precision-manufactured parts.
  • Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and tight-tolerance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively support second-shift production.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience inspecting CNC-machined components.
  • Experience with CMMs, vision systems, optical comparators, or similar inspection equipment.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Experience in an AS9100D, ISO 9001, aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of machined parts to verify compliance with drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and customer requirements.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to complete first-piece, in-process, final, and first article inspections.
  • Accurately complete inspection reports, FAI documentation, QC releases, and nonconformance records.
  • Partner with machinists to resolve dimensional and quality issues while helping reduce nonconformances and scrap.
  • Support calibration, MRB, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
