About The Position

Met-Con, Inc. is hiring an experienced QC Inspector to support its structural steel fabrication team on 2nd shift at its AISC-certified facility in Cocoa, Florida. The position conducts in-process and final inspections to verify that fabricated structural steel meets applicable quality standards, approved shop drawings, and project specifications. Candidates must be able to commute to the Cocoa facility; the worksite is not Orlando.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in structural steel layout, fabrication, or quality inspection.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and construction plans.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with production personnel.
Ability to identify quality issues and document findings accurately.
Must be able to work 2nd shift at the Cocoa, Florida facility and commute to the worksite.

Nice To Haves

Welding certification in AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and document daily inspections of fabricated structural steel in accordance with applicable AWS D1.1 and D1.5 requirements.
Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated materials.
Verify dimensional layouts and part placement against shop drawings.
Ensure fabricated materials meet approved shop drawings and project specifications.
Identify, document, and assist with resolving non-conforming work.
Work with production teams to address quality concerns and maintain production standards.
Participate in annual AISC quality control audits.
Maintain accurate inspection records and thorough documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen quality and fabrication processes.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
