About The Position

The QC Inspector Level II conducts pre-pour and post-pour inspections to ensure concrete members meet tolerances specified by shop cards and PCI requirements. The role also performs concrete testing, witnesses stressing, and establishes adequate curing controls. Employees are expected to follow all safety and quality rules and processes to support a safe working environment and high-quality production. The inspector documents nonconforming items, communicates them to the appropriate personnel, and checks repaired members against Engineering requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to inspect concrete member setups and products against shop drawings, shop cards, and PCI tolerances.
Ability to perform the specified concrete tests.

Responsibilities

Inspect bed setups against shop drawings, including the size and placement of reinforcement, strands, plates, and structural connections.
Identify nonconforming items and notify appropriate personnel so the product can be brought into conformance.
Perform concrete tests, including slump, unit weight, air content, release-cylinder, and 28-day-cylinder testing.
Witness stressing.
Set up steam clocks to ensure proper curing temperature.
Monitor finishing procedures in the finishing shed.
Inspect finished products and report nonconformances to the Engineering Department for approval or a repair work order.
Apply green tags to conforming products and red tags to nonconforming products requiring Engineering approval.
Reinspect red-tagged members after repair to verify they meet Engineering requirements.
Prepare and submit written documentation for nonconformances requiring Engineering approval.
Follow safety and quality rules and processes.
