About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is hiring a QA Tester for a remote, full-time W-2 position. The initial engagement requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination. The role begins with testing a federal agency application that processes filer applications from submission to decision. The application is built in Python on AWS, and assignments may evolve as the work changes. The QA Tester will test the application end to end across its user interface, APIs, and database. This includes manually testing user functionality before releases, writing test cases from requirements and user stories, and exercising screens, permissions, and exception paths. The role also builds and maintains automated end-to-end, API, and regression test suites, including suites run through CI/CD pipelines. Data validation includes using SQL to compare user-visible information with source documents and database records, as well as testing access controls, permissions, and integrations such as identity verification and notifications. The position supports a regulated federal environment where accuracy and auditability are essential. The tester is expected to report actionable defects, communicate their release implications, and use judgment to determine which checks should be automated and which require human review. Peregrine describes the role as an opportunity to take ownership of outcomes and contribute across changing client and project needs.
