About The Position

The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking an experienced QA Test Analyst with strong manual and automation testing experience to support mission-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have professional proficiency in English and Spanish and hands-on experience validating Spanish-language application functionality, content, workflows, notices, correspondence, and other resident-facing materials. The role will collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, architects, project managers, vendors, and State stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of QA/testing experience on large enterprise applications.
  • Strong hands-on manual testing experience.
  • Experience with test automation and automation frameworks.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience throughout the SDLC.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing processes, and best practices.
  • Experience translating business requirements into test scenarios and test cases.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when validating English and Spanish content.
  • Ability to work effectively with business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual, automated, functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
  • Test and validate Spanish-language application functionality and resident-facing content.
  • Compare Spanish content against approved English requirements for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and functionality.
  • Develop detailed test scenarios, test cases, and automated test scripts.
  • Review requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Perform API, web service, database, mobile, cross-browser, and Salesforce testing.
  • Conduct backend data validation using SQL.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using approved frameworks.
  • Document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution using Jira.
  • Participate in defect triage, sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, and requirements walkthroughs.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and execution through the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Validate fixes and perform regression testing following application changes.
  • Support production releases and post-production validation.
  • Communicate testing results, risks, defects, and Spanish-language discrepancies to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to improvements in QA processes, automation frameworks, and testing standards.
