QA/Test Lead
About The Position
SciTec, a wholly owned subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace, is a dynamic non-traditional defense contractor that delivers advanced technologies in support of U.S. National Security and Defense. For the past forty-five plus years, we have supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques to deliver world-class data exploitation capabilities supporting missile defense; intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance; space domain awareness; and aircraft survivability missions. SciTec exclusively works on U.S. government contracts that require U.S. citizenship for all employees. SciTec is seeking a Quality Assurance / Test Lead for large software system providing value for an emergent missile defense need.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience supporting system integration, test, or verification activities in a defense or complex systems environment
- Experience with system-level verification and validation (V&V)
- Experience with the four layers of testing in the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Experience developing or executing test plans and test procedures
- Ability to analyze system behavior against requirements, derived test criteria, and document results
- Strong understanding of integration environments and test workflows
- Experience collaborating across technical teams and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Nice To Haves
- A current active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
- Experience contributing to verification strategy development
- Experience supporting Missile Warning, space, or similar mission systems
- Experience working across multiple programs or system components
- Experience supporting customer-facing test events or demonstrations
- Experience in Agile or hybrid development environments
Responsibilities
- Support planning and execution of system integration and verification activities
- Develop and refine test strategies, plans, and methodologies aligned with program objectives
- Execute and support system-level test events, including integration, functional, and performance testing
- Identify verification gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and drive resolution
- Analyze system performance against requirements and document test results
- Collaborate with software, systems, infrastructure, and program teams to ensure integrated system readiness
- Support coordination with government and contractor stakeholders to align integration and test activities
- Provide recommendations to improve verification rigor, efficiency, and consistency
- Support preparation for internal and external reviews, assessments, and demonstrations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of integration and test processes across programs
- Derive metrics and acceptance criteria for system-level and acceptance-level testing from program requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
