About The Position
Performs in-process visual and dimensional inspections and product testing to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements. Verifies and interprets spec sheets, communicating with Product Design when specifications vary or a SKU cannot meet required tolerances. Approves or rejects products based on compliance with product specifications, work instructions, product deviations, food-safety requirements, and customer requirements. Follows and enforces standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and work instructions. Records testing and dimensional results in the SQC database to produce work-order reports. Communicates with production personnel when adjustments are needed to improve product form, fit, or function. Performs other duties as directed by the Quality Manager/Supervisor or higher authority.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process visual and dimensional inspections.
- Conduct product testing to meet product specifications and customer requirements.
- Verify and interpret spec sheets; communicate with Product Design about specification variations or SKUs that cannot meet required tolerances.
- Approve or reject products based on compliance with specifications, work instructions, product deviations, food-safety requirements, and customer requirements.
- Adhere to and enforce standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and work instructions.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and line-clearance verification.
- Ensure test results are recorded and are current and accurate.
- Monitor test and inspection equipment to ensure it is maintained in working order; report damage to the Plant Manager and/or Quality Assurance Supervisor.
- Initiate corrective actions when non-conformances are found.
- Monitor raw materials for consistency and integrity.
- Enter testing and dimensional records in the SQC database to produce work-order reports.
- Communicate with the Production Supervisor and Machine Operators when adjustments are needed to improve form, fit, or function.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Quality Manager/Supervisor or higher authority.
