About The Position

The QA Technician will ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company standards. This role involves conducting standardized tests, analyzing results, performing sensory evaluations, and collaborating with production staff to maintain product quality. The technician will also manage the Finished Good Retention Program, maintain hold logs for non-conforming materials, and conduct line audits and quality inspections. Additionally, they will verify plant sanitation programs and assist with facility verification programs. Requirements

  • BS in Food Science or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a relevant food science role.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing facility strongly preferred.
  • Reads, speaks, and writes English.
  • Basic addition and subtraction proficiency.
  • Understands temperature and weight measures.
  • Regular and Predictable Attendance Required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact knowledgeable in the Company’s Food Safety and Quality Programs.
  • Ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and compliance with company standards.
  • Conduct standardized tests (e.g., brix, pH, bostwick, Percentage of Total Acid, Vitamin C) to ensure compliance with customer specifications and FDA regulations.
  • Analyze test results to provide feedback, direction, and approval/disapproval of in-process goods.
  • Analyze test results of products at equilibrium to determine further testing, action required, or final approval.
  • Maintain the Finished Good Retention Program, including quarterly audits.
  • Perform sensory evaluation on raw materials and finished goods.
  • Work collaboratively with production staff to ensure product is manufactured according to standards.
  • Maintain a hold log of non-conforming materials, packaging, and finished goods, including placing items on hold and assisting with investigations.
  • Perform line audits and quality inspections throughout the shift.
  • Collect and stage samples for testing.
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for non-conformances or concerns to the QA Supervisor and Manager, and relay information cross-departmentally.
  • Adhere to GMP Policies.
  • Accurately record and interpret data.
  • Assist and review facility verification programs as needed or assigned.
  • Verify Plant Sanitation Programs by collecting and testing ATP Swabs, Allergen Swabs, and other environmental swabs.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
