Requirements

  • Effective communication and troubleshooting skills in a team based environment, collaborating with Line Operators, Mechanics, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Training of Line Graders, Fill Checks, Canning Attributes in Canning as required for product and operational testing, as well as Pre-Op inspections.
  • Ensure that shift Quality and Production personnel are fully aware of product specifications for the products being produced on shift, while remaining safety conscious at all times.
  • Review of thermal processing checks, both paper-based and electronic for accuracy and to ensure all product meets food safety quality and legal requirements.
  • Review information from the Agricultural team for incoming loads of crops based on the pre-harvesting information made available by the Agricultural teams.
  • Preliminary review of Quality records during the shift to identify quality and operational problems in real time based on specifications and procedures. Provide end of shift (5 am and 5 pm) recap.
  • Product chews in Canning on shift to verify maturity evaluation by shift quality control (Linegraders).
  • Ensure that all procedural recheck testing required as a result of product being out of specification is performed according to established procedures at the required frequency and time interval.
  • In process sampling to evaluate holds, perform required testing as required by the sampling plan as time permits.
  • Monitoring and sign offs to verify compliance of all CCPs.
  • In conjunction with C1: Writing and submission of deviation reports
  • Pre-Operational inspection, Micro and listeria swabbing.
  • In process sampling of GMO, Pesticide as per customer requirements
  • Ensure that any quality concerns are immediately communicated to the Production Teams and facilitate corrective actions with the Production Teams quickly.
  • Ensure that required Library samples are being maintained.
  • May occasionally be required to perform other quality duties or Attribute duties as guided by the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Data input of Quality results into computerized programs as needed.
  • Quality activities such as glass audits, lighting audits, data entry etc. during periods when production lines are not operating.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
