About The Position

We are looking for an experienced QA Lead to join a leading banking client in Montreal. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in quality assurance, automation testing, API validation, and test strategy development within enterprise banking environments. This role requires hands-on leadership experience managing QA activities across multiple projects, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in Agile environments. The QA Lead will work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and DevOps teams to drive testing initiatives, improve automation coverage, and maintain release quality across critical banking applications.

Requirements

8+ years of QA and Test Automation experience.
3+ years of experience leading QA teams or projects.
Strong experience in Banking or Financial Services domain.
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks using Selenium, Python, Java, or similar technologies.
Strong API testing experience using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.
Experience with SQL and database validation.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
Strong understanding of defect management and test lifecycle processes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Knowledge of performance testing tools.
Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools or automation frameworks.
Experience working with microservices architecture.
ISTQB certification preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Strong leadership and mentoring experience.
Ability to work in fast-paced enterprise banking environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end QA activities across multiple projects and releases.
Define and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and testing processes.
Coordinate with business stakeholders, developers, and project managers to understand requirements and delivery timelines.
Manage functional, regression, integration, API, and automation testing efforts.
Lead defect triage meetings, track issue resolution, and ensure timely closure of defects.
Mentor and guide QA team members on testing best practices and automation frameworks.
Develop and maintain automated test suites using modern automation tools.
Validate REST APIs, backend services, and database integrations.
Ensure test execution is integrated within CI/CD pipelines.
Prepare QA status reports, testing metrics, and release readiness reports.
Support UAT testing and production validation activities.
Identify testing risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
