About The Position

The QA Lab Technician I is responsible for obtaining, preparing, and testing various samples including finished product, raw materials, environmental swabs, incoming water, and air. This role involves using laboratory equipment for testing, supporting the environmental monitoring program, and maintaining laboratory standards. The technician will also be involved in data entry, reporting, initiating investigations, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols. This position is designated as Safety-Sensitive.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant external experience or 1 year internal Rockline/Iatric experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with electronic database systems utilizing QA release of Finished Product functions preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems with the ability to complete QA functions in the system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining, preparing, and testing of samples for finished product, raw materials, environmental swabs, Incoming water, and air.
  • Use of Autoclave to prepare for and sanitize for lab testing and sterilization of waste.
  • Performing laboratory tests including: petri film, agar plates, and Celsis rapid microbial detection, UV Vis, Autotitrator, FTIR, TOC analysis, and pH testing.
  • Support environmental monitoring program.
  • Recognizes and reports issues with laboratory equipment including Microscopes, Celcis Advance system, UV, Vis, Autotitrator, FTIR, TOC analyzer, Hoods, pH meter, Conductivity Meter, Incubators, Autoclave, Pipettors, Gas Chromatograph, Centrifuge and Labware.
  • Data entry, reporting, and communicating results in Excel and Infinity.
  • Initiate and participate in laboratory investigations.
  • Help monitor microbiology and analytical lab material inventory.
  • Review carefully all important or contractual paperwork completed within the department, including all required record keeping minimizing problems or potential liabilities.
  • Evaluating the suitability of new or modified testing and measurement equipment.
  • Supporting process improvement activities as requested.
  • Supporting operational validation activities with microbiological and analytical testing.
  • Collecting, Submitting and Testing for acceptance of incoming chemicals.
  • Supporting raw goods hold/release activities – COA review and Tagging of Totes.
  • Testing of trial material through chain of custody process.
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards.
  • Maintaining and proper documentation of In-House standards and Solutions.
  • Participation in Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • Verification of Metal Detector checks performed by Operations.
  • May assist in training other lab techs.
