About The Position

This role supports operations by analyzing and ensuring incoming raw materials, production batches, and outgoing shipments follow standard quality assurance procedures and meet quality specifications. The shift schedule rotates days, nights, and weekends, with 12-hour shifts from 6 am/pm to 6 pm/am.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, with 1 year of experience working in a technical lab OR Bachelor’s Degree in a Science discipline.
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in math.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry, lab equipment/instrumentation, standard lab, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to become proficient with lab related software and equipment.
  • Must be able to safely perform all the duties of the job.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 40lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer/pre-placement drug screen, background check, and job-related pulmonary function test.
  • Must follow facial hair guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Chemistry degree, preferred.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT), and International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) training experience, preferred.
  • SAP experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and refill all lab solutions and solvents.
  • Handle, maintain, and dispose of sample retains per applicable work instructions.
  • Restock lab supplies and notify the QA Manager of needs.
  • Dispose of waste pails and solvents.
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping standards.
  • Perform customer service duties during off-hours, including receipt and processing of customer orders.
  • Function as plant security monitor during off business hours.
  • Practice safe work habits and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Undertake special projects as designated by QA Management and other job duties as assigned.
  • Analyze and document calibration standards and audit samples.
  • Analyze incoming raw materials delivered by certified vendors per standard procedures for receiving, testing, and verification, ensuring they meet QA database requirements.
  • Enter all results into the QA database.
  • Notify QA Management for approval or material disposition if materials do not meet specified requirements.
  • Enter Purchase Order receipts of incoming raw material into ERP/CRM Database.
  • Generate product formulations (Process Orders) for the Production department using ERP/CRM Database and Excel formulations.
  • Ensure products do not exhibit non-typical properties that fall outside required specifications before disposition.
  • Run all tests according to specified test methods to ensure produced material meets requirements before disposition.
  • Make recommendations to production to adjust material into specification, if possible.
  • Contact QA Management for guidelines if a product formulation or procedure does not provide for an adjustment to bring material into specification.
  • Enter batch receipts into ERP/CRM Database when batches are completed.
  • Run all tests according to specified test methods to ensure products meet all customer specifications before approval is given for loading.
  • Print domestic bills of lading for shipments.
  • Check pertinent customer information on domestic and international bills of lading before material is certified.
  • Ensure the appropriate SDS is attached to the bill of lading.
  • Generate a Certificate of Analysis for the material being shipped, if required.
