QA Inspection
About The Position
The Quality Inspection associate monitors the molding process to ensure conformance to requirements. The role includes inspecting and sorting parts, verifying that parts are in the correct totes or containers, releasing approved parts, and moving them to the rack area designated for each part number. The associate also sorts rework parts, completes temporary work instructions for reworked parts, and processes the related documentation according to instructions. The position supports molding-area organization and quality assurance activities, including 5-S activities, moving molded parts to work-in-process storage, and recording nonconforming parts in the c-core system and cage log. The associate follows YAMI safety and operating requirements and may perform other temporary or permanent duties assigned to support Quality Assurance.
Requirements
- Some experience in inspection.
- Ability to perform sorting and visual inspection of parts.
- Advanced knowledge of Quality requirements.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions.
- Ability to lift containers weighing up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the molding process to ensure conformance to requirements.
- Perform sorting and visual inspection of parts.
- Verify parts are in the proper totes or containers.
- Sort rework parts as needed.
- Release approved parts and move them to the rack area dedicated to each part number.
- Complete temporary work instructions for reworked parts and process documentation according to instructions.
- Complete 5-S activities to maintain the molding area.
- Transfer molded parts from the molding area to work-in-process storage as needed.
- Follow general and job-specific safety and operating requirements established at YAMI.
- Provide suggestions for improvements in the warehouse and other work areas.
- Scan nonconforming parts into the nonconforming category in the c-core system when placing them in the nonconforming cage, and log the parts on the cage log.
- Perform other duties, temporary or permanent, as required or assigned to support Quality Assurance activities at Yahagi America Molding, Inc.
