About The Position

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an experienced QA Engineer Automated 3 to support database application testing initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions, ensuring application quality, data integrity, and system performance across enterprise database environments. This role requires a highly skilled QA professional with extensive experience in test automation, database testing, functional validation, regression testing, and collaboration with development and database administration teams.

Requirements

  • Designing automated tests and developing scripts that automate database testing functions.
  • Prioritizing test scenarios and creating automated test execution plans.
  • Developing test plans, test cases, and test environments.
  • Performing functional, application, and regression testing.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and testing practices.
  • Interpreting business and technical requirements and updating testing documentation.
  • Analysis, planning, and management reporting functions.
  • Working effectively with business stakeholders during testing cycles.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for database applications.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies.
  • Prioritize testing scenarios and establish execution plans for automated testing.
  • Perform functional, application, regression, and performance testing.
  • Prepare and maintain test environments and testing documentation.
  • Identify, document, track, and report defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with developers, database administrators, and business stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Validate data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across database systems.
  • Monitor database performance and recommend optimization improvements.
  • Interpret business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test coverage.
  • Support analysis, planning, status reporting, and quality assurance activities.
  • Work closely with business users and technical teams during all testing phases.
