About The Position

QA automation engineers design automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. This includes determining the priority for test scenarios and creating execution plans to implement these scenarios. Designing documentation for automated processes. QA Automation Analyst 3 will be responsible for the development and maintenance of test scripts for both manual and automated testing. Experience preparing UAT test cases, aligning them with business requirements, and conducting walkthroughs with stakeholders to ensure clarity. Tracks test case execution and provides reporting. Use Jira to log and track defects. Develops and maintains requirements traceability matrices. Must have experience working in an Agile environment. Supports the development team as needed in dev, test, and UAT environments and troubleshoots the defect as required.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience.
  • Experience in writing and executing test cases.
  • Experience creating test plans.
  • Knowledge of software usability concepts.
  • Knowledge of requirements traceability.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Knowledge of Xray Test Case management tool.
  • Knowledge and experience working with a scrum team in an agile environment.
  • Experience delivering software release sprints on time, with a focus on quality.
  • Proficient in defect tracking and management using industry-standard tools such as Jira.
  • Systematically log, categorize, and prioritize identified defects.
  • Knowledge of SQL query writing to perform Create, Read, Update, Delete operations.
  • Experience in API Testing using Postman, or similar.
  • Experience working on different types of testing: e.g., unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, stress, and performance.
  • Knowledge of code coverage tools, process or systems analysis, and design work.
  • QA automation testing and scripting experience using UFT.
  • Ability to effectively organize and present complex technical information, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and with sprint development team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure under tight time constraints.
  • Be self-driven.
  • Skill communicating with varied levels of staff and end users to develop positive and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to assist by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to accurately track time spent working on projects.
  • Ability to accurately estimate changes or enhancements.
  • Experience working with the State of Texas HHS agency and system.

  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Experience utilizing accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
