About The Position

The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy for a QA Analyst Manager in the Product Delivery Section. This position is responsible for managing and directing a team of Quality Assurance Analysts who are responsible for leading, performing, and reporting on quality assurance testing of highly complex applications software as a part of the software development lifecycle. The Office of Technology Services aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The Division of Administration is the state government’s management arm and the hub of its financial operations, overseeing various activities including capital construction, grants, budget development, technology services, purchasing and contracting, and disaster recovery programs.

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR An associate’s degree in information technology plus five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR A bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus four years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR A master’s degree plus four years of experience in information technology or administrative services.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
  • A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels through recruiting, hiring, and retaining Quality Assurance Analysts.
  • Monitors Quality Assurance operational performance and implements changes to operations as needed.
  • Oversees and assists in the documentation of quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Conducts regular, recurring meetings with all team members to provide support and guidance.
  • Assesses both individual and team productivity and implements strategies for improvement.
  • Reviews and evaluates the potential impact of new and emerging technologies on staff, clients, and supported projects.
  • This includes reviewing, recommending, and obtaining software products, tools, and training courses as needed.
  • Collaborates with leadership and managers, providing input into strategic planning.
  • Manages the execution of tasks to implement strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluates progress toward the goals and objectives of the Analysis Section of Product Delivery.
  • Performs or oversees the performance of special tasks as assigned.
  • This includes such tasks as managing another team in the absence of management, performing/assisting in the preparation of specialized research and reports, serving on design review and RFP evaluation committees.
