About The Position

The Python & Java Full Stack Developer (AI-Capabilities) builds AI-assisted platforms for manufacturing tests and debug automation software, with direct impact on factory operations. The role owns end-to-end features across event-driven platforms, spanning AWS infrastructure, Python and Java backend services, agentic LLM workflows, and an Angular frontend serving manufacturing sites. LLMs and AI coding agents are central to the work, but the role requires strong engineering judgment: defining requirements precisely, critically evaluating generated output, and writing and debugging code directly when needed. The developer will build and operate production systems with a focus on correctness, testing, observability, security, and backward-compatible interfaces.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a software development capacity with enterprise server, storage, or networking products.
  • BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong Python skills, including modern typing, asynchronous patterns, data validation such as Pydantic, clean error handling, and codebase-scale structuring.
  • Deep Java backend experience with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus, clean architecture, and idiomatic use of the type system.
  • Production AWS serverless and cloud experience, including Lambda, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, OpenSearch, VPC, VPC endpoints, private API Gateway, EventBridge, IAM, IAM Roles Anywhere, Amazon Bedrock, CloudWatch, SSM Parameter Store, and ECR.
  • Persistence expertise with JPA/Hibernate, JDBC, transaction management, DynamoDB access-pattern modeling, and relational database design, management, and query optimization.
  • Experience building production REST services and managing API versioning and backward compatibility.
  • Knowledge of Java virtual threads (Project Loom) and concurrency correctness.
  • Experience designing and operating microservices with message buses such as NATS.io, Kafka, SQS, or similar, including idempotency, retries, and failure handling.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM applications involving function calling, prompt design, RAG, and embeddings, and evaluating output quality.
  • Practical use of AI coding agents and spec-driven workflows, with the ability to critically review their output.
  • Angular and TypeScript frontend development experience.
  • Testing discipline spanning unit, integration, and mocking.
  • Experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps pipelines, and code review in a sizable multi-repository codebase.
  • Knowledge of blue/green and canary deployments, gated rollouts, and rollback strategies.
  • Knowledge of structured logging, tracing, metrics, secure coding, authentication fundamentals, and operational-data analytics.

Nice To Haves

  • MS degree.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship end-to-end features across AWS infrastructure, Python and Java backend services, agentic LLM workflows, and the Angular frontend.
  • Build and evolve agentic AI workflows on Amazon Bedrock, including tool/function calling, RAG, prompts, validation loops, and production fallback strategies.
  • Own Python serverless and Java microservices, including REST and event-driven APIs, persistence, asynchronous pipelines, and message-bus integrations.
  • Implement idempotency, retries, and dead-letter handling throughout event-driven systems.
  • Define and evolve AWS CDK infrastructure as code across multi-stack deployments with cross-stack references.
  • Maintain published API surfaces as backward-compatibility contracts and use shared interface/schema libraries across services and clients.
  • Develop retrieval and scoring logic, including log chunking, embeddings, vector and semantic search in OpenSearch, and relevance ranking.
  • Instrument systems with CloudWatch dashboards, alarms, tracing, and structured diagnostic events.
  • Own CI/CD using Azure DevOps, including gated and reversible rollouts.
  • Contribute to shared foundational code with narrow, well-tested changes.
  • Use AI coding agents judiciously, author reusable agent capabilities, and rigorously validate generated output.
  • Build and maintain Angular/TypeScript user interfaces that consume backend APIs.
  • Apply unit, integration, and mocking tests as part of the software delivery process.
