Turing is seeking a high-taste engineer with a strong eye for quality and hands-on experience with preference data and rubric creation. The successful candidate can distinguish good examples from great ones, communicate clearly, and synthesize complex technical work into concise, structured, actionable information. They should be comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and favor shipping over prolonged deliberation. The role involves designing and refining rubrics and evaluation criteria for preference data; reviewing and labeling data to a high quality bar; building and maintaining infrastructure and pipelines for data generation, collection, and evaluation; synthesizing findings into clear team updates and recommendations; and collaborating with researchers and engineers to scale qualitative judgment into processes. This is a fully remote, independent-contractor engagement expected to last three months, with a start date as soon as possible. Compensation is at market rate; candidates are asked to provide a specific rate expectation. Availability of 40 hours per week is preferred, with at least six hours of overlap with Pacific Time. The evaluation process is one approximately 30-minute interview covering technical and cultural topics. The engagement does not include medical or paid-leave benefits.
