About The Position

The PVA Technician supports production by preparing recycled PVA materials and ensuring they are available when needed. The role involves shredding and weighing PVA, preparing liquid chemicals and PVA day tanks according to established recipes, maintaining material inventory, and keeping equipment and work areas organized and maintained. The technician also trains operators, coordinates material needs, and communicates with production shifts and management to help meet quality and efficiency goals. Occasional travel is required. The role may work in classrooms, offices, and high-traffic production floors.

Requirements

2–4 years of job-specific experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
Strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles, as well as industry practices and standards.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.

Responsibilities

Shred Line 2 PVA removed from slabs using the designated shredder.
Weigh and bag shredded PVA to the specified weight for loading into the day tank.
Prepare pre-blended jugs of liquid chemicals according to the specified PVA preparation recipe.
Prepare PVA day tanks for production.
Oversee housekeeping and organization of the area around the PVA station.
Train operators to prepare day tanks using the recycled PVA recipe.
Maintain equipment and coordinate with maintenance when necessary.
Maintain a schedule for materials needed to meet production requirements.
Create and maintain weighing stations for shredded PVA and liquid chemicals.
Oversee inventory of materials needed for PVA recycling and prepared PVA for production.
Communicate with production shifts and management to ensure PVA production needs are met.
