About The Position

The PV Solar Field Technician III will support operations and maintenance activities for clean-energy facilities in Roswell, New Mexico. The posting describes work supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as part of the Renewable Operations & Integrations team, as well as site technician duties within a solar region. The role supports the Regional Manager or designee in executing power-generation processes and helps ensure the performance and reliability of energy systems.

The technician conducts inspections and preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots electrical, electronic, power-electronics, and mechanical equipment, and supports overall site operations, asset management, and regulatory compliance. The role also includes safety and environmental program stewardship, contractor and employee supervision, inventory and business duties, and heavy equipment operation. The technician collaborates with operations and construction teams during maintenance, installation, and commissioning activities, maintains inspection and maintenance records, and follows applicable safety standards and company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Zero or more years of experience (0+ years).
• Valid non-CDL driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school graduate.
• Licensed electrician.
• Licensed master electrician.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to identify maintenance or performance issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including cleaning, replacing faulty components, and testing systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures using technical knowledge and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with the operations team to implement and execute maintenance plans and procedures.
• Coordinate with the construction team during installation and commissioning of new projects.
• Generate reports and maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in BESS technology and maintenance.
• Perform reliability engineering and warranty management duties.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on site equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, power-electronics, and mechanical equipment.
• Steward safety and environmental programs.
• Perform supervisory duties for company employees and contractors.
• Handle business duties and inventory management.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
