About The Position

The PV Solar Field Technician III supports site operations for NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division in Roswell, New Mexico. The role supports the Regional Manager or designee in executing Power Generation Division processes and maintaining the performance and reliability of solar assets. Site Technician duties include safety, contractor management, operation and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, overall site operations, asset management, regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

The posting also describes work supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems as part of the Renewable Operations & Integrations team, including inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, coordination with operations and construction teams, and accurate maintenance records. The technician is expected to follow safety standards and company policies and to stay current with BESS maintenance practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 0+ years.
• Valid non-commercial driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school graduate.
• Licensed electrician.
• Licensed master electrician.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to identify maintenance or performance issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including cleaning, replacing faulty components, and testing systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures using technical knowledge and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with the operations team to implement and execute maintenance plans and procedures.
• Coordinate with the construction team during installation and commissioning of new projects.
• Generate reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during work activities.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in BESS technology and maintenance techniques.
• Perform reliability engineering and warranty management.
• Conduct operations and basic maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and power electronics equipment.
• Steward safety and environmental programs.
• Perform supervisory duties for NextEra Energy employees and contractors.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
• Handle business duties and inventory management.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
