About The Position

The Pursuit Engineer II - Geotech Construction role is a development position within GeoStabilization International (GSI), a leading infrastructure solutions platform. This role is designed to train individuals on how GSI pursues work, secures business, and manages client relationships. The engineer will contribute technical analysis, assist in shaping proposals, and build relationships with key market players. The position offers opportunities to learn pursuit management, develop technical expertise in geotechnical solutions, and gain practical experience in the heavy civil and transportation sectors, with a long-term goal of independently managing accounts and pursuing work as a Project Development Engineer (PDE).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
  • 4+ years of experience in engineering, construction, sales, or technical client-facing roles.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and heavy equipment.
  • Experience working on proposals, in sales, or in a customer-facing technical role.
  • Candidates must be based in Tennessee.
  • Company-sponsored travel required: approximately 50% regionally, including customer site visits and industry engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • P.E., P.G., E.I.T., or G.I.T. licensure preferred.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or equivalent) is a plus.
  • B2W estimating software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support pursuit execution by assisting PDEs in developing pursuit strategy, coordinating with estimating and engineering teams, and building technically credible proposals.
  • Conduct technical analysis and provide proposal support by researching geotechnical challenges, evaluating solutions, and contributing technical content to client-facing materials.
  • Engage with clients by participating in client meetings, site visits, and follow-ups to build relationships and understand decision-making processes of various stakeholders.
  • Support market research and pipeline development by identifying and qualifying opportunities in the heavy civil and transportation sectors, and tracking market activity and competitive positioning.
  • Participate in industry involvement by attending trade shows, events, and association meetings to begin building a professional network.
  • Handle administrative and coordination tasks, including managing pursuit timelines, tracking deliverables, and ensuring smooth communication across internal teams.
