About The Position

Next 150 Construction is seeking a Construction Engineer II. The Construction Engineer II assists the project team in obtaining, evaluating, coordinating, and distributing documents, reports, submittals, billing reports, and scopes of work to construct the project in a timely manner within budget and quality specified. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to offices for trainings, meetings, etc. The role will be onsite daily in New Florence, MO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Construction Management or similar field
  • 1-3+ years experience with a large trade contractor, construction management, or general contractor organization
  • OSHA 10-hour certified required
  • Experience working in a self-performing environment for a general contractor
  • Proficient written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Basic MEP knowledge
  • Knowledge of Contract Documentation and Specifications

  • Strong knowledge project management maintenance and editing software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Project Manager on coordinating and distributing all project information
  • Works with the project team to ensure all contract document logs are up to date in real time
  • Ensures status reports on RFIs, submittmits, and other documents are prepared and presented
  • Writes effective scopes of work for bid packages
  • Effectively issues Request for Quotations and follows up with Trade Contractors and vendors
  • Successfully updates project schedules with CPM techniques
  • Documents field quality activities in a timely manner
  • Establishes and maintains the project quality files and documentation systems
  • Continually seeks to understand customer goals and needs and acts with a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs and demonstrating value
  • Develops industry relationships and expands professional networks that have potential to generate opportunities to Next 150
  • Attends jobsite coordination meetings
  • Works closely with onsite equipment planner
  • Works closely with accounting to prepare and review billing
  • Reviews and revises self-perform scopes of work for clarity and efficiency during preconstruction and execution phases
  • Helps prepare and distribute contracts/POs
  • Coordinates with field foremen and superintendents to maintain task sequencing and resource alignment
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports productivity data for self-perform labor crews
  • Assists in preparing quantity take-offs, labor hour budgets, and material cost estimates for self-perform work
  • Utilizes construction management platforms (e.g. CMiC, Bluebeam, Procore) to support field reporting, labor tracking, and equipment logs
  • Tracks equipment utilization, maintenance schedules and field requests
