About The Position

Donson Machine is seeking a Purchasing/Subcontracting Assistant to support its purchasing team at its Alsip, Illinois location. The role assists the purchasing manager with ordering, receiving, and issuing components for jobs; updating part routings; ordering new tooling; and matching invoices to packing slips. The assistant also undertakes other tasks assigned by the purchasing manager. Donson Machine is a family-owned medical device manufacturer. The position is scheduled for the day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, in a shop environment.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Punctuality and an excellent attendance record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a shop environment with continuous exposure to potentially hazardous metalworking machinery and equipment, loud noises, dust, mist, oils, and solvents.

Nice To Haves

Two years of job experience in purchasing or manufacturing.
Blueprint-reading ability.

Responsibilities

Assist the purchasing manager with ordering, receiving, and issuing components for jobs.

Coordinate driver delivery and pickup schedules.
Find solutions to problems relating to subcontracting.
