About The Position

This is a new high-visibility role within the Purchasing Program Management organization offering opportunity to grow leadership behaviors and strengthening critical Purchasing processes. In this role, the SRT PPM Lead will have two primary functions: Execution Lead for all SRT unibody and Special Projects with responsibility for coordination between the Purchasing function and SRT Engineering as well as other cross functional teams in Planning, Manufacturing, SCM and Change Management for the development of new high-performance programs and special projects. This responsibility with a dedicated SRT perimeter includes supporting the Direct Material teams during early supplier engagement, source selection, working with Engineering and SQ to determine supply base capability, coordinating multidisciplinary teams during project development, plan execution, supporting supplier relationship development, and ensuring appropriate actions to guarantee observance to contracts. Coaching / Team Lead for newly hired and developing PPMs. In this function, the SRT Lead will act as SME, Coach and Mentor working to strengthen onboarding process, building PPM development in terms of expanding requisite systems/process knowledge, proliferating key leadership behaviors with ownership-mindset, and leading Continuous Improvement projects (i.e. Traplines, Go-Fast Sourcing, Early Supplier Engagement). Responsibilities include ensuring purchasing requirements and sourcing metrics are met at all program milestones by removing roadblocks, aligning to the program variable and investment targets for purchased components, assessing program capacities, communicating the vehicle program needs so the team can properly support the program, and providing purchasing's input throughout the various milestones of the development cycle (sourcing, launch readiness, post launch supplier issues/recognitions, etc.) to ensure a successful program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Purchasing, Finance or related; including 3 years leading a team
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills; able to lead structured working sessions and drive timely outputs
  • Deep understanding of Group Purchasing business processes

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating early supplier engagement and high-level supplier assessments in terms of Financial Risk, Technical Capability, Supplier Capacity, Industrialization Planning and Timing for SRT and Special Projects
  • Lead, train and coach new team members, setting clear priorities to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Assist PPMs in resolving roadblocks and/or finding creative solutions to resolve issues
  • Identify continuous-improvement opportunities in analytics, templates, and reporting to improve speed, quality, and repeatability
  • Facilitate working sessions to drive efficiencies by sharing best practices and lessons learned
  • Drive first level of escalation, leading Yellow enablers
  • Report out to executive leadership on purchasing metrics to support vehicle program metrics
  • Driving sourcing table decision that meet program and purchasing department objects
  • Assessing program capacities, communicating the vehicle program needs so the team can properly support the program
  • Providing purchasing's input throughout the various milestones of the development cycle (sourcing, launch readiness, post launch supplier issues/recognitions, etc.) to ensure a successful program
  • Coordinate supplier kick-off after supplier award is confirmed
  • Support the buyers in potential volume increases during development
  • Control and negotiate the impact of changes during development, with a focus on economic negotiations and timing
  • Support Supplier Quality teams to meet capacity and quality convergence targets
  • Lead summary meetings with suppliers and key internal stakeholders
