About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 12 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex is hiring a Purchasing Officer I. This position performs beginning level duties in the procurement of and/or payment of goods and non-professional services on an agency wide-basis.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in purchasing will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis.
  • Certification with the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) will substitute for one year of the college requirement OR certification as a Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) will substitute for two years of the college requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and invoices in eMARS according to policy and process payments in eMARS.
  • Track expenditure data and provides findings to supervisor for budgetary needs.
  • Track invoicing data for budgetary forecasting.
  • Process monthly inmate work-detail timesheets and internal billings to state agencies in eMARS.
  • ProCard site administrator.
  • Assist with monitoring of budget and financial data.
  • Process procurement documents for ordering of commodities.
