Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, purchasing software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
  • Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies.
  • Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives
  • Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
  • Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
  • Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with company expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required to support business operations.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate disruptions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and logistics teams, to forecast purchasing needs and align procurement activities with business objectives.
  • Manage inventory levels and purchasing schedules to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock and carrying costs.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, contracts, and procurement-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Track key procurement metrics, prepare reports, and present purchasing performance results to leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and develop purchasing staff to drive team performance and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning by providing purchasing forecasts and cost analyses.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, invoicing, and service performance.
  • Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of vendor reliability; oversees the surveying of vendors to maintain adequate working relationship.
  • Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
  • Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels.
