Purchasing & Inventory Control Specialist
About The Position
Lunds & Byerlys Mitchell Road is currently hiring for a self-directed and outgoing Purchasing & Inventory Control Specialist! This position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive wage of $23.00-$30.00/hr. We operate 24 hours/day and 365 days/year. For this position we are looking for someone with availability around the hours of 7:00am-4:00pm. This role works primarily Monday-Friday, with one Saturday shift a month. Lunds & Byerlys is a family-owned grocery retailer rooted in the family tradition of quality, value, and service. Our Mitchell Road manufacturing facility supplies our 28 stores with an assortment of deli and bakery products. Our facility is fully equipped with a fresh kitchen, bakery, sanitation team, research and development team, and quality assurance team.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in business or logistics or equivalent experience
- One or more years' experience in a purchasing role supporting a manufacturing facility

Responsibilities
- Manage inventory to ensure product availability for internal and external customers
- Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain inventory within established guidelines
- Oversee the inventory process, including cycle counts, adjustments, and month-end reconciliation
- Control and reduce shrink through effective inventory management
- Assist in negotiating buying contracts to secure the lowest cost of goods
- Source suppliers, establish order quantities, and manage shipping arrangements
- Ensure compliance with buying contracts and monitor pricing shifts
- Maintain supplier databases, track inventory, and assess internal client needs
