Purchasing Coordinator

IntramotevSt. Louis, MO
$50,000 - $60,000Onsite

About The Position

At Intramotev, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the freight industry by liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency. We are deploying self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to transform freight logistics and bring innovation to our rail network. Based in St. Louis, MO, we are committed to promoting industrial revitalization, saving lives, and minimizing the environmental impact of trucking/transportation. We actively foster a work environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us. We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to own the day-to-day tactical purchasing that keeps parts moving for our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles. This role runs purchase orders end to end in Odoo, our ERP — issuing them, tracking them, expediting them when they slip, and resolving invoice discrepancies against POs and receipts. It also executes RFQs directed by the Supply Chain Lead and handles distributor ordering and quote-chasing through Mouser, DigiKey, McMaster-Carr, and the volume distributors we are transitioning toward as production ramps. Sourcing strategy and supplier negotiation sit with the Supply Chain Lead; this role owns the tactical purchasing execution. This is a ground-floor seat on a supply chain function that is still being built, and as it develops there is room to help stand up basic supplier onboarding and supplier-management practices — documentation, qualification tracking, and scorecards. This role reports to the Supply Chain Lead. This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in St. Louis, MO. You'll work within a team of 2–4 on the Supply Chain team, with no travel required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field is preferred; equivalent hands-on purchasing or operations experience is considered in its place.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, and reliable and diligent on repetitive, detail-heavy work.
  • Willingness to learn new ERP and software systems — Odoo experience is not required, and we will train you on it.
  • Clear, professional written communication for supplier-facing correspondence.
  • Comfortable escalating and asking questions rather than guessing on ambiguous or sensitive items.
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, co-op, or work experience touching purchasing, procurement, logistics, or ERP systems.
  • Exposure to electronic-component or industrial distributors such as Mouser, DigiKey, or McMaster-Carr.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting concepts, particularly the three-way match between purchase order, receipt, and invoice.
  • Experience in directly applicable industry or projects, such as Rail, Electric Vehicles, Automotive, Aerospace, or Heavy Machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Create, issue, and track purchase orders in Odoo ERP for approved sourcing categories, keeping PO data accurate and current.
  • Match invoices against purchase orders and receipts, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Own status follow-up on open purchase orders in Odoo, including basic expediting.
  • Execute RFQs directed by the Supply Chain Lead — sending requests, logging supplier responses, and following up on non-responsive vendors — and support distributor ordering and quote-chasing.

Benefits

  • Medical coverage: We cover 100% of employee medical premiums, plus low-cost dental and vision options.
  • Vacation: Full-time employees enjoy unlimited paid time off.
  • Equity: Full-time employees receive equity in the company.
  • Parental leave: New parents receive paid time off to spend quality time with their family.
