About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is seeking an experienced Purchasing and Receiving Agent to join our team. This position is 100% on-site, no remote work. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport Convention Center is conveniently situated just south of Miami International Airport off the Dolphin Expressway adjacent to the Blue Lagoon Business District. The hotel features 334 guestrooms, onsite dining, fitness room, outdoor pool, business center, complimentary High-Speed Internet Access, 24,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 Square feet of Hotel Meeting and Function Space and a Convention Center with 152,000 square feet of meeting, event and exhibit space. This position will be an non-exempt position starting at $21/hr and will report to the Director of Finance. The Purchasing and Receiving Agent’s responsibility is to ensure that his/her assigned area is organized and executed with professional, fast, and courteous service resulting in the complete satisfaction of the guests being served. This includes both external guests, those visiting the outlet, and internal guests, our team members assisting with the service.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent twisting, bending, lifting, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and smiling.
  • Stand and walk for extended lengths of time to ensure proper service of every assigned function.

Nice To Haves

  • English and Spanish preferred, to be able to read and interpret BEO's to understand and verify room sets and menu served.

Responsibilities

  • Report to every shift, function or event in proper uniform and promptly at the scheduled time.
  • Ensure that all laws and regulations that govern food service provision are followed.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Enter all direct expenses into checkbook and ensure budgeted margins are maintained.
  • Maintain daily invoice logs for food and beverage deliveries.
  • Track Purchasing activity and measurements.
  • Ensure that all deliveries match purchase orders including pricing, weights and product specifications.
  • Label and date all receivables and ensure all products are properly rotated through the storeroom based on FIFO.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety.
  • Be able to make decisions, meet targets and work under pressure.
  • Ensure storeroom is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner at all times.
  • Actively look for ways to help people.
  • Any other reasonable request made by management.
