Job Description IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Bismarck, Missouri plant. This plant produces granules from raw material for our vertically integrated shingle manufacturing operation. Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a purchasing-related field preferred, or equivalent work experience demonstrating relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Must have at least 5 years of working experience in a related role
  • Must have experience using ERP systems
  • Must have experience working in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be able to collaborate with multiple individuals or departments
  • Highly effective time management and task prioritization abilities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The Purchasing Agent is expected to comply with all safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company procedures to ensure safe and compliant operations at all times. This is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze markets to assess present and future material availability and determine cost effective procurement strategies for the company.
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
  • Implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
  • Administer on-line purchasing systems
  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, services, equipment and raw materials
  • Ensure purchased items are delivered timely and as specified on the purchase order
  • Represent company in negotiating with suppliers directly, in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail
  • Support inventory control of finished goods
  • Work directly with Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Team to support maintenance activities and spare parts procurement
  • Support plant with HSE audit requirements including internal and external reporting
