About The Position

We are hiring a second Purchaser to join our growing team in Grimsby! This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. The selected candidate will work Monday to Friday, in person, on-site. Successful candidates must have long-term experience working in a fast-paced environment, sourcing a high quantity of quotes and negotiating with suppliers. Experience working in a similar manufacturing environment, using QuickBooks and/or an ERP software is preferred. Candidates must also demonstrate exemplary customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of experience in Purchasing, ideally in made-to-order manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Outlook, Word, & Teams
  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy, while working in a fast fast-paced setting
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrates adaptability and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking and proactive/reactive problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using QuickBooks and ERP strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Report to Chief Information Officer
  • Work alongside and support other members of the Purchasing, Kitting, Shipping & Receiving team
  • Create Purchase Orders for project-specific and general purchasing
  • Maintain accurate costing within QuickBooks/ERP System
  • Track and report on purchase metrics including cost savings, lead times, and vendor reliability.
  • Regularly negotiate pricing structure and volume discounts to achieve maximum savings with vendors.
  • Research alternative vendors to improve the quality & cost of purchased components.
  • Work with other departments and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of components
  • Provide daily updates on all open orders through BOM and the project tracking system.
  • Work with the Accounting and Receiving departments to compare invoices against purchase orders and shipping and receiving documents to verify receipt of items ordered as needed
  • Work with the Receiving department and vendors when discrepancies arise between shipments and orders, including damaged or lost shipments
