About The Position
The Punch Press Operator is located in Dixon, Illinois, and sets up and operates machines to fabricate metal components according to specifications. This is a second-shift position, Monday through Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or a minimum of one year of related experience in lieu of education.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks safely throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees.
- Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.
- Ability to react productively to change and handle other tasks as assigned.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturing experience.
- Lean certification.
Responsibilities
- Preliminarily set up, operate, or tend punch presses and special-purpose equipment to form metal according to drawing requirements.
- Interpret drawing and blueprint requirements.
- Use hand tools to work with material.
- Count product.
- Resolve routine questions and problems and refer more complex issues to a higher level for resolution.
- Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Use designated personal protective equipment as required.
